Oakridge International School, Bachupally, is hosting its first-ever hackathon, a competition that will bring together the best and brightest minds in the city who, over 24 hours will build an application entirely from the ground up. In a race against the clock, participants will work in teams to find technological solutions to pressing global issues. 

Requirements

Grades: 6–12

Divided into two categories, along with the themes allowed for each category:

  • 6–8 (Junior): Game Development, Healthcare, Education, Ecological Sustainability
  • 9–12 (Senior): Healthcare, Education, Ecological Sustainability, Financial Technology (FinTech)

Tools and Technologies:

WYSIWYG software such as Scratch and MIT App Inventor are allowed only for the junior category in an attempt to spark interest among younger students in adopting logical thinking and computational methods.

The senior category is allowed to work with the IDE and programming languages of their choice based what works best for them. All projects must be maintained on a git platform as a public repository.
